Mr. Taylor studied music at The University Of Toronto, Humber College, and York University (BFA). He completed his Bachelor of education at Queen’s University in 1989. Mr. Taylor is currently entering his 24th year of teaching, having spent the past 22 years at Markville Secondary School, and the past 12 of those as Markville Music’s department head.
During his career, Mr Taylor has been a developer of curriculum at both the board and provincial levels, has had groups win multiple awards at local festivals (over 30 first place finishes at Kiwanis, over 30 first place finishes at Music Alive, 50 plus invitations to Music Fest National Finals), and is a repeat winner of the OBA Conducting Excellence Award.
In his spare time, Mr. Taylor is a fishing enthusiast. He also and enjoys vintage cars, and audiophile stereo equipment. As well, he is an active performing musician, playing in a number of venues in the GTA.
Mr. Taylor is delighted to be at Trudeau, and is enjoying the challenges of his new position.
