Grade 11 Wind Symphony
The grade 11 Wind Symphony directed by Mr.Greg Colley consists of 90 students who had shown interest in music for the third year in a row. The ensemble meets on Thursday evenings from 5:15-7:15 every week with morning sectionals for brass & percussion on Mondays and woodwinds on Wednesdays. Last year, this ensemble received gold ratings when they were in grade ten at the annual Ontario Band Association, as well as at the Canadian National Music Festival. The band has a lot of fun rehearsing and performing together with each other because of the great music selection that was done by Mr. Colley. The grade 11’s will be participating in many different events throughout the year including: working with a guest conductor in November for Trudeau's annual Trudeau Band Workshop, the Trudeau Band Workshop’s concert night on November 22, 2013, Winter Melodies on December 17, 2013, and the Spring Harmonies Concert in the spring of 2014. The Wind Symphony will also be participating in the Ontario Band Association Festival in February of 2014.
